The Pending Messages icon Pending Messages icon displays above this screen when the Enterprise Manager is processing configuration changes.

View menu

To filter the display of configuration messages according to the message status, use the View menu on the right side of the screen. The possible selections include:

  • All - Displays configuration messages that have any of these statuses: Scheduled Imports, Pending, Completed, Failed.
  • Scheduled Imports - Displays configuration messages that are scheduled to be imported, but are not yet imported and processed.
  • Pending - Displays configuration changes that are converted from the queued state into configuration messages. However, the configuration messages are not yet sent from Enterprise Manager to the managed server Server that is managed by the Enterprise Manager application..
  • Completed - Displays configuration messages received and processed by the managed server.
  • Failed - Displays configuration messages received by the managed server but not successfully processed. In this case, you must examine the source file and find out the cause of the failure, such as a misspelled field name.
  • Pending Per Server - Displays the total number of configuration messages in the Pending state (as described earlier) that exist for each server.

    Also displays:

    • The time of the last attempt to send a pending configuration message to each server.
    • The total number of attempts to send the configuration message that have occurred.

Refresh Rate

Shows the rate at which the web browser refreshes the current page to update the view of configuration errors. To choose a refresh rate (maximum 20 minutes) from the menu, click the Up/Down arrows. You can also click the refresh icon (beside the Configuration Status check mark) at any time to refresh the current page.

Higher refresh rates result in better system performance as they use less bandwidth and processor resources. The default setting of 1 minute is recommended.

Note: This setting does not control the interval at which the configuration errors are gathered from the servers. This setting controls the rate at which the screen refreshes to display the latest information gathered from the servers.

Destination

Shows the name of the server or server role Entity that contains a logical, predefined set of components (system software or certified third-party software) deployed in the Data Center and Site Zones that provide specific functionality for the system. (as specified in the Installations tree hierarchy) for which the configuration message is destined.

Sequence (Pre 15.2)

The sequence number (or identifier) of the configuration message on V15.1 and older systems. This number is used for troubleshooting and searching in logs for issues related to the configuration message. The sequence number is used like a configuration message water mark. The smaller the number, the older the configuration message.

Sequence (15.2+)

The sequence number (or identifier) of the configuration message on V15.2 and newer systems. This number is used for troubleshooting and searching in logs for issues related to the configuration message. The sequence number is used like a configuration message water mark. The smaller the number, the older the configuration message.

Status

Shows the status of the configuration message. Statuses include Scheduled Imports, Pending, Retrying, Completed, and Failed.

See “View menu” for details about all statuses except Retrying.

The Retrying status indicates that the configuration message was sent to the managed server but the managed server could not successfully process the configuration message. The Enterprise Manager is sending the configuration message again.
