Secondary Database Connection Settings screen reference

The Secondary Database Connection Settings screen displays when you select the Configure Secondary Databases button from the System Management > Data Center Redundancy > Setup screen. This screen specifies the connection information (host name and port) for each database server in the secondary data center.

The Secondary Database Connection Settings screen displays the following information:

Role

Specifies a database server role Entity that contains a logical, predefined set of components (system software or certified third-party software) deployed in the Data Center and Site Zones that provide specific functionality for the system. that exists both on a primary database server and its corresponding secondary database server.

Primary Hostname

Specifies the hostname of the primary database server that hosts the server role listed in the Role column.

Primary Port

Specifies the port on which the primary database server listens for connections.

Secondary Hostname

Specify the hostname of the secondary database server that hosts the server role listed in the Role column. You are specifying the host name of the secondary data center server that hosts the same database server role as the primary data center server listed in the Primary Hostname column.

Secondary Port

Specifies the port (default 1433) on which the secondary database server listens for connections.

The Secondary Database Connection Settings screen includes the following buttons:

  • Apply to All button - Use this button to populate every Secondary Hostname and Secondary Port field with the values found in a single row. To use this button, click on a single row to highlight it. Click Apply to All to populate every Secondary Hostname and Secondary Port field with the values found in the highlighted row.
  • Revert button - Use this button to return the settings on the screen to the values they had the last time the screen was saved.
